4Ag Hawaii was established in 2009 as a Hawaii non-profit corporation as well as a 501 [c] [3] corporation focused on the following goals:
To promote the agricultural economic welfare of The State of Hawaii and its Counties;
To promote and conduct agricultural economic and educational programs and expand the economic base of the State of Hawaii;
To engage in activities seeking to bring appropriate new agricultural businesses and/or industry to the State of Hawaii;
To foster and promote Statewide interest and concern for the responsible agricultural economic development of our islands;
To provide access to financial and program support of potential new agricultural business/industry and existing business/industry where appropriate.
As food safety and security becomes more paramount and the economic base of Hawaii continues is not only timely but integral to Hawaii's future diversified economy.
The beneficiaries of these integrated programs will include the 7,000 small business farmers of Hawaii's agricultural community; the Hawaii consumers as well as the nearly 7 million visitors who will sample Hawaii's bounty, but perhaps more importantly the overall sustainability of Hawaii's economy.
The farmers will accrue increased revenues- the consumer will enjoy fresh, safe food consumption- the State will garner greater revenues- the economy will be stimulated by increased jobs.
